Dear colleagues,

The whole Board wishes you an excellent and happy year 2023!

The year 2022 has brought several successes such as the Monastir congress, in person after 2 years of virtual congress, and for the first time organized on the African continent. The number of registrations and members has also never stopped growing and you are now nearly 700 registered on the SB website! The first apéro-zoom, the organization of the National Biomechanics Day and numerous events around biomechanics have also allowed us to reach a large audience.

Our wish is that these successes will continue and be amplified in 2023. Of course, we are all looking forward to our annual conference in 2023, which promises to be a real scientific and sporting success. Several projects are also underway concerning our relations with other learned societies or the updating of the mapping of laboratories and trainings.

We rely on you to continue to contribute to the animation of the SB, in particular do not hesitate to solicit us to disseminate or label all your initiatives that are in the field of biomechanics.

Call for membership. If not done yet, do not forget to renew your membership to the Société de Biomécanique for 2023 by clicking here. It allows you to reinforce your involvement in the community of biomechanics researchers. As a member, you benefit from a preferential rate for the annual conference and you can apply for all SB prizes and grants.

PhD students on the Board. Our two students are unfortunately leaving the SB board before the end of the year. Bastien Goin created the LinkedIn of the Société de Biomécanique and François Jonca got closer to the foundation La main à la pâte to raise awareness of biomechanics among young people. If you are a PhD student and you wish to invest yourself in our learned society, do not hesitate to contact them directly (students_SB) to discuss their missions and, why not, become a member of the Board! To do so, send your CV and a letter of motivation with the actions you would like to pursue or initiate to the president of the Société de Biomécanique (President_SB).

Congress SB 2023. After the palm trees of Monastir, the mountains of the Grenoble region will be in the spotlight for the next congress which will take place in Grenoble from October 25 to 27, 2023. The three invited speakers will cover the two main themes of the congress:

Do not hesitate to visit the congress website (sb2023) to find the latest information.

Antonin Jamotte presents here in French a new methodology to study the shoulder functions in the tennis service activity to prevent injury risks. In relation to cardiovascular diseases, Joris Léonet presents here in French an experimental study to characterize the intraluminal thrombus in order to propose a model considering the multilayered, porous and inhomogeneous nature of this aggregate of blood, platelets and cellular residues.
