Dear colleagues,

Please find below some information following the board of directors of the Société de Biomécanique (SB) which was held on June 21, 2021 by videoconférence.

 

SB 2021 congress. Given the unclear evolution of the Covid 19 epidemic, the annual congress of the Société de Biomécanique will finally be held remotely from October 25 to 27, 2021. Again a nice program is planned this year: 3 invited plenary lectures, 115 oral communications, 25 posters and 4 plenary lectures associated to SB awards. Register quickly to the congress here: the deadline for registration at the preferential rate is extended to July 16, 2021.

 

Winners of 2021 SB Awards. (Winners)

  • Congratulations to Pierre-Yves Rohan, winner this year of the Young Investigator award from the Société de Biomécanique ! Currently researcher at the Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges Charpak at Arts et Métiers in Paris, his work is focused on understanding and preventing biological soft tissue injury during sustained contact with an exernal device.
  • Bravo to Viktoria Stanova, winner of the PhD award of the Société de Biomécanique for her study on bioprosthetic aortic valve leaflets, conducted in the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Applications from Aix-Marseille University !
  • This year, the Christian Oddou Award of the Société de Biomécanique is given to Sébastien Laporte, currently director of the Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges CharpakHis research topics mainly concern the dynamic and lesion behavior of anatomical structures and tissues. Congratulations to Sébastien for his brilliant and rich career and his unwavering commitment to the Société de Biomécanique !

 

Research Collaboration Grants. If you wish to go to another laboratory to develop a collaborative project, consider applying to these mobility grants (CoRSB). The deadline for applications is September 25, 2021.


New Board member. Welcome to Bastien Goin, first year PhD student, on the board of directors of the Société de Biomécanique ! We look forward your involvement with us.

 

Partial renewal of the Board. This year two seats are up for election, for a 3-year term, on the Board of Directors of the Société de Biomécanique. Board members have considerable influence on activities and development of the Société de Biomécanique as it is its decision making body. Any member up to date with his or her membership can stand for election. Find the electoral procedure here and do not hesitate to apply. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2021.
