Société de Biomécanique

The Société de Biomécanique was created in 1976 for international scholars. Its official language is French. Its statutes have been deposited  in Paris, France, in compliance with the French law of 1st July 1901 governing non-profit organisations. Its registered office is located at 151 boulevard de l’hôpital, 75013 Paris, France.

The Société de Biomécanique's purpose is to encourage and promote research in all areas of biomechanics. Its role is, notably, to foster close cooperation between researchers, encourage the dissemination of knowledge, and promote the development of the discipline. Members of the Société de Biomécanique are interested in the study of living biological systems; as a result, its scientific activities are found at the interface of many disciplines, such as physics, biology, mechanics, physiology, neurophysiology, medicine, engineering, robotics, imaging, etc. The objects of study mean that research is both multi-scale and multi-physical. Studies are carried out using both in vivo, in vitro and in silico models. The work addresses important societal challenges in the fields of health, physical and sporting activities, transport, ergonomics, industrial production, etc.
